LA SEGRETA ROSSO BIO 0,375 - DOC SICILIA - SCREW CAP

La Segreta takes its name from the forest surrounding our Ulmo vineyard.

A wine that has always been produced exclusively from vineyards owned for centuries by the Planeta family, cultivated with passion and according to sustainable and organic criteria. Initially graphically linked to an ancient 18th-century map, descriptive of the area, underscoring its ancient presence and deep roots, it now presents itself in a completely new and refined guise.

For this reason, we took inspiration from the theme of Sicilian nature—inside and outside the bottle—drawing on the work of an illustrious Sicilian, Giuseppe Riggio, who, between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with the help of a painter, created a "picto herbarium" depicting Sicilian flora with great precision and poetry. The new label offers an alphabet of herbs, flowers, and roots, expressing a hidden and powerful beauty that reveals itself only to those who know how to admire it. A richness of aroma and flavor that is fully manifested in these wines.

CULTIVATION METHOD

According to organic farming criteria and the SOStain® protocol; soils are grassed with field beans, vetches, and wild flora to increase organic matter and nitrogen content, promoting the vitality of soil microfauna; plant protection is achieved with minimal amounts of sulfur and copper; pest control is achieved with beneficial insects, mating disruption, and the application of natural tonics such as zeolite, kaolin, and plant extracts.

Intense and vivid ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of currant and mulberry with a subtle spicy and minty finish. On the palate, the wine reveals its beautiful personality with flavors of ripe berries, balanced by a full, herbaceous flavor in a delightful way. The tannins are gentle and well-polished, giving this red a very versatile character.
For everyday consumption, it is ideal when paired with Mediterranean first courses, light meat dishes, vegetables, or even blue fish.
