ERUZIONE 1614 PINOT NERO BIO 0,750 - IGT TERRE SICILANE

Among the terraces of Sciaranuova—on the edge of the sciara formed by the historic eruption of 1614, which lasted a full 10 years—the smallest of the plots is home to 3,000 Pinot Noir vines, a variety that has been cultivated in the area for centuries, albeit not consistently or widely. Today, it is cultivated according to sustainability and organic criteria. The result is an absolutely original version of this aristocratic grape variety.

Soils with perfect exposure and location, black due to lava sand and therefore extraordinarily rich in minerals with an abundant and large structure; surrounded by woods and more recent lava flows.

820 meters above sea level.

TRAINING SYSTEM
Espalier with Guyot pruning system.

CULTIVATION METHOD
According to organic farming criteria and the SOStain® protocol; grassed soils with spontaneous flora to increase organic matter, promoting the vitality of soil microfauna; phytosanitary protection with minimal amounts of sulfur and copper; pest control with beneficial insects, sexual confusion, and the application of natural fortifiers such as zeolite, kaolin, and plant extracts.
